Last week we did something new and exiting, we looked at Non-Fiction texts and reading comprehension in a whole new way with the year 3 and 4 students. We read a short text on “The History of Chocolate”, about the creation of Hershey’s Chocolate as a class. We then broke into small groups and answered a series of questions that had been placed around the library. The questions varied from being simple, one answer questions, to more complex inferential questions. There were also a few opinion questions to top it off.
It was great to see the children working together and using their reading skills to get the job done. Have a look at the pictures below to see how they did it and what their answers were.
