This is a lovely story about a little boy who gets a goldfish for his birthday and he is rather unimpressed. See below for the link to the online story the children listened to.
Over time his feelings and emotions about Norman vary greatly so I thought it was a good chance for the Preps and Year 1s to show their ability to understand the feelings of a book’s characters. The children were given the array of emotion pictures seen below to record how they thought Norman was feeling throughout the story. With a bit of guidance and listening to the story twice, all of the students put in a good effort to complete the task. I think the most fun part was reviewing which emotion each face represented and getting the children to act them out!
