Piccinos @ Handbury

The Piccino children have become regular visitors to the Handbury Library and Mrs. Smith and myself are really enjoying having them in there. Although our time each week is short (only 30 minutes) we manage to have a lot of fun. In their first full library lesson during week 2, the children very  informally talked about emotions and how the characters in books are feeling when certain things happen to them. The children were very good at identifying emotions and empathising with the plight or victories of the characters.

And now for this week! We read a beautiful story called “No Place Like Home” about a polar bear who isn’t quite sure where he belongs.

The children then drew pictures of the place they would most like to live. You can see what they created by watching the Aura triggered by the “No Place Like Home” book cover above. If you aren’t sure how to do this, go to my previous post Hello from Mrs. N for instructions.
